Note: This does not give you the green light to eat all the fats in the world.  You can calculate how much fats you can eat here: http://macronutrientcalculator.com/.  At the end of the day, calories in & out matters.

eople certainly had a lot of opinions about my diet.  A lot of people didn’t support what I was doing at first — they questioned my judgment on eating FATS.  The loudest person in this camp was my own mom. She thought I was going to die from heart disease. At one point, I even challenged myself to eat nothing but fat just to make a point that this works. (and oh, by the way, I'm talking about good unsaturated fats) And yeah, maybe the whole thing may seem like I was just a stubborn person who likes to live outside the box. I can understand that view …even if I knew that it wasn’t my real intention. Over time, people started believing me when they actually saw the benefits & results — the diet that I am referring to is called "The Ketogenic Diet" or modified "Slow-Carb Diet".

For most people, I would recommend the slow carb diet simply because it is more practical & easier to sustain ...plus you are even allowed to have a glass (or two) of wine!

This diet revolves around the GLYCEMIC INDEX, which is rated from 0-100.  Foods below 55 does not impact insulin 'significantly'; therefore, it is safe to eat.

Fat Will Not Make You FAT

According to this, we would assume that a "low-carbohydrate" / low-sugar approach would solve everything.  However, most people who goes on the low-carbohydrate diet complain of hunger & low energy and QUIT not because such diets do not work, but because they consume insufficient calories.

To fix this... I introduce to you:

This is a high fat diet.  In the absence of carbohydrates, your body runs on FATS and breaks it down as fuel (in the form of ketones - this is actually your body's survival mechanism)... and because fats are calorically dense, you will always feel satiated.  Fats does not spike insulin either; therefore, you can eat as much fat as you want and not get fat!

Note:  This is a "binary diet", which means that you are either ON or OFF - there's no in between.  If you tell me that you are on a Ketogenic Diet, I will really need to inspect your meals.  Only 10% of people who attempt this diet is actually on it - it is that specific.  If you think you are on a Ketogenic Diet but your body is still running off glucose, it is the most ruthless diet in the world.

Here is a chart of what a Ketogenic Diet should look like:

Before we move on... it's crucial you understand the basics on why we get fat.  Take a look at this diagram I drew out:

For this diet, we are specifically adding legumes for caloric load.  Eat as much as you want until you are full.  An example of a slow carb meal is shown below:

A) KETOGENIC DIET

B) SLOW-CARB DIET

Honestly: this is all you need to know.  I hope the thing you take away from what I'm writing is that losing weight is not as hard as you think if you understand these basic principals.
